I love buying postcards when I travel and have always wondered why I do that when I have visited the site itself and taken my own photos? What is the allure? There is a quality issue; $10,000 camera, $1,000 lens and photoshop versus my Powershot. And professional photographers can glorify subjects in was that I cannot. They have access to adjacent rooftops, lighting and helicopters. But I think the real attraction of postcards is the "thereness"; they have to be purchased at the spot, the writing on the back might be in a different language, it says 'airmail' or 'par avion', and it helps you to say "See it for yourself, I can't describe it". People have created images to remember for as long as they have created communities and cities. The true gift of using Karen Burniston's Twist Cube with postcards is that it invites us to remember.
Sizzix Supply List: Karen Burniston's Sizzix Bigz XL Die - Cube, Twist 3-D (Pop-Up) - #656739 www.sizzix.com/product/2381
Other supplies: 5-6 Postcards. They can be postcards you purchased or postcards people have sent to you. Travel brads. Ribbon. Travel paper clip.
Instructions: This card is so simple. If you are cutting postcard images I found it was best to put the cards on the die upside down. It will take a little adjusting. If the cards are small you won't have the full tab so use plenty of good adhesive. The postcards themselves can form the cube or the images can be adhered to a cardstock or craft paper cube. I tried it both ways and either one works.
Postcard Cube Images : Stonehenge, Buckingham Palace, Stratford-Upon-The-Avon, Pubs of London, Map of Great Britain,
what a great idea! perfect for a scrapbook page too!

You're all kinds of awesome, T-bird! I love, love, love your postcard cube. What a fabulous thing to put in (or on) a travel journal! Plus you always write so cleverly. It's as much fun to read your words! Thanks for using the twist cube so fabulously!

Nice idea with the postcards, though I wouldn't use my vintage ones! Could die cut loads of other things one picks up while traveling. Very creative.

Great idea! I buy only postcards as souveniers when traveling but don't get around to doing anything with them. Might need to try something like this.

Tara- cool idea- I always buy postcards and then don't send because I don't have addresses or stamps with me. And BTW, I have heard that the Spider is fast becoming the international Thanksgiving icon. :-)
