Looking for Halloween decorations? This skeleton can be made in an hour using Karen Burniston's Lantern 3-D Die by Sizzix.
Supply list: Sizzix Lanterns 3-D Die by Karen Burniston, six sheets of 12x12 Reflections Signature white glitter paper, black ribbon or twine, scraps of paper for eyes, nose, mouth, and bow-tie.
Instructions: Cut all your pieces first or you will forget…take my word on this. You will need the following:
Skull/head - two (2) large pieces
Chest cavity/ribs – four (4) large pieces
Arms – four (4) small pieces, two for each ‘bone’ of the arm
Legs - four (4) small pieces, two for each ‘bone’ of the leg
Neck bone – one (1) piece
Assemble skull, ribs, arms, and legs according to die instructions. For this project we found it was better to use a stapler or mini stapler to keep the pieces together. The ‘neck bone’ piece must be stapled together sideways as to make it shorter than say the leg or arm pieces. This is for proportion only it can be made longer if desired. Weave black ribbon through ‘skull’ and pull to desired size. Attach ‘neck bone’ to the bottom of ‘skull’. It will dangle free above ‘ribs’. Weave black ribbon through ‘ribs’ and pull to desired size. Attach ‘ribs’ to ‘skull’ using the four top ribbon holes. Tie the two ‘bones’ of the arms and legs together then attach to ‘ribs’ again using the same top holes. Freehand cut eyes, nose, and mouth from scrap black paper. Staple or adhere to skeleton. Cut bowtie or other decorations and adhere. Trim all ribbon.
